Revell
Revell is a very well established name in manufacturing plastic kits. It is only relatively recently they got into making 1/72 military vehicles, compared to the time they have produced aircraft etc. They do a very nice range of models, including some unique, and 'unusual' subjects. They made a name for some fine 'Link & Length' plastic tracks, rather than the old "rubber band" style. There are a couple in the range which are, how can I put it, not as good as the others, but the majority are really very good indeed. Standard of moulding is always good. Difficult to pick any in particular, but I still like their Cromwell especially. Recent items like the Morser 18 are worth checking out. If that wasn't enough, then they also bought up the moulds from the old 'Matchbox' range of kits from the 1970's. They are 1/76, and show their age compared to current Revell offerings, but still some very neat models, and complete with their own little diorama base that makes them ideal for youngsters to start with.
There is just no substitute for visiting the real battlefields of WW2 in Europe if you have an opportunity to do so.
