Duxford
Duxford is a part of the Imperial War Museum, and was a genuine Battle of Britain fighter airfield. It was also home to 19 Squadron, the first RAF unit to be equipped with the Spitfire during the 1930s. It famously featured in the 1968 film Battle of Britain when one of the 4 hangers (dating from WW1) was blown up for the film. Much debate about it these days, and just the concrete base remaining where it once stood. Today it house the larger exhibits of the IWM and various other collections (such as "The Fighter Collection" and is well known as the home ot the Slly B, a B17. You can regularly expect to see flying Spitfires, Hurricanes and many other beautiful aircraft. On static disply is a Concord prototype, Vulcan, Sunderland, B52, Blackbird and a TSR 2! among many many others. The vehicle hall holds gems like Monty's 3 caravans, along with his Humber car and a Grant tank. Check out the full V1 launching ramp, and in the hangers, the associated launch equipment. Far too much to list here. Their slogan is that you "can't see it all in a day", and all I can add is that this is true.
There is just no substitute for visiting the real battlefields of WW2 in Europe if you have an opportunity to do so.
