A visit to the battlefields, especially in Normandy, is a marvellous experience. It is possible to do this as part of a tour group, but my experience was simply to go there and look round for myself. There is so much still there to see, along with excellent sign-posting of the tourist routes. A number of excellent museums and historic sites. I hope this small record might encourage you to go and have a look for yourself. If you do, please let me know or if you have any questions, I will do my best to answer them if I can.

There is just no substitute for visiting the real battlefields of WW2 in Europe if you have an opportunity to do so.
