Ace
Ace is a series of short run injection moulded kits in 1/72 from the Ukraine. Box art is superb and so is the detail of the moels I think. The only real problem is the short run moulding process which often leaves a good deal of cleaning up of parts and checking the fit which can make a time consuming construction process. Having said that, the newer items that I have seen show improvement over what went before. They also now add etched brass parts and sometimes track, which is very nicely done. An extensive selection of modern Russian equipment and their T55 is the best to date, with the exceptioon of the original track and running gear, whcih were problematical to say the least. The 'Enigma' illustrates that it can be done but you do need patience with that track. Since then, I believe they have done an etched alternative. Sadly I can't get to hear direct from the manufacturer so pick up bits and pieces when I see them at shows. The recent German artillery pieces I really like.
There is just no substitute for visiting the real battlefields of WW2 in Europe if you have an opportunity to do so.
